Why the reviews live on Vrbo and Airbnb, not here
We could paste 47 five-star quotes onto this page and you would have no way to check a single one. Reviews on a rental owner’s own website are worth very little, because the owner chooses which ones appear. So we link out instead. Both platforms verify that a reviewer actually completed a stay before publishing anything, neither lets us delete a review we dislike, and both sets are one click away above.
That is also why you will not find star ratings attached to this site in Google results. We have deliberately left review markup off the pages: republishing a platform’s rating as our own structured data would be against Google’s guidelines, whatever the number says. The ratings are real, they are simply not ours to display as though we collected them.
How to read a vacation rental’s reviews
A few things worth doing with any Cozumel property, not just this one. Read the middling reviews first — the threes and fours tell you what the place is genuinely like, where five-star reviews mostly tell you the guest had a nice week. Check whether complaints repeat: one person who found the drive into town long is a preference, five people saying it is a problem is a fact about the property.
Check the dates, too. A rental that stopped collecting reviews two years ago has usually changed hands or changed standards. And on a property inside a complex, confirm the reviews are for the specific unit rather than the building — in Cozumel’s condo developments the same address can contain a beautifully kept home and a neglected one, and the listings look identical.
We have hosted here for nine years. Over that time the things guests raise most are consistent: the kitchen, how close the water is, and that the beach equipment is already there. The thing people most often wish they had known is that you really do want a rental car on this side of the island — something the where-to-stay guide goes into properly.
